English Seaside In Winter

We drove to England’s “West Country” on Saturday:

We went to visit long-time friends…

We lived near Bath and Bristol in 2014-2015, and have long had friends in the vicinity, so that part of the country is familiar territory.

Once there, we decided to have an English seaside February walk. The four of us (and their dog) drove to the coast.

A perfect day: just above freezing, heavy clouds with no chance of sun, and occasionally even sprinkles of rain or sleet.

It didn’t get more “English”:

Eventually, we ended up in the Victorian part of Clevedon, which sits on the Severn Estuary, across from Cardiff, Wales:

Having a break, we thought we might get ice creams.

But we ended up with coffees and teas.

Why? Well, we were shocked to discover that the ice cream place was actually closed – which was proof, I suppose, it was too unpleasant weather-wise even for the English!😂
