NEVER NEVER NEVER Trump

A lovely morning today…

[Dartmouth, Devon. This morning, just after dawn. Photo by me.]

…until I checked my phone and saw what he said Saturday night in South Carolina, and that idiots present were actually cheering.

I was almost physically sick. I felt I had to post this today. This needs saying and I do not state this lightly.

This went beyond just him being the known thicko he is who’s overly enamored of Moscow, and that some voters are dimwits. He, and they, would glibly see butchered our friends and relatives here in Europe:

And I just want here to say my small bit – in case the New York Times or the Washington Post or NBC News insist that the “equal” issue is… President Joe Biden is on the older side.

Trump is, by the way, plainly old, too – and will be older in office than Biden is currently if Trump ends up president again. Regardless of age, Trump better be beaten over the head unceasingly with that statement until November by Democrats and those who care about our international standing. No president, or an aspiring one, should EVER even vaguely, or even hypothetically, suggest WAR be made on any U.S./NATO ally. We should not care what his so-called “reasoning” is.

How f-cking dare he. On that score alone he is utterly unfit for the office. And in that we are not even talking about his 91 felony indictments handed down by grand juries.

Presumably he also knows Slovenia is a NATO ally, as does his (third) wife? Putin signaling aside, he shows again there (after also having actually been president) that he still has no idea how NATO works. More likely, he’s yet again just deliberately (for the umpteenth time) misrepresenting how it works.

NATO is NOT a mercenary “They f-cking pay us to defend them” set-up. It is a collective security alliance. (Click here for an actual explanation of how NATO is funded.)

Oh, yes, the leaders up the road in London, over in Paris, in Berlin, in Rome, in Madrid, in Warsaw… oh, yeah, they woke up this morning sure wishing moron Moscow fan-boy Trump was president again.

Our friends FEAR another 4 years of him in office.

Our adversaries, though, think he’s wonderful.

Most American voters apparently need to be made aware Trump’s anti-NATO stuff is NOT new. He began his anti-NATO carrying on among his earliest public political utterances with this exact same “They need to PAY us or else…” cr-p. Curiously, that started in 1987 – right after he visited the then communist Soviet Union just months before:

[The Guardian, January 29, 2021.]

Relatedly, I remember January of that same 1987 in a personal sense. It was Gorbachev time. When I was a political science undergraduate in New York, a professor took a group of other poli sci students to Moscow on a carefully arranged – by Soviet authorities – tour.

They came home laughing about how the young women guides were chatty and gorgeous and the guys so friendly and handsome. It was clear the Russians/Soviets were looking for impressionable young Americans who might have been “useful” to them in the future.

Trump is such an easily flattered vain simpleton, they undoubtedly did the same to him on his visit. He was lots “bigger” than just some uni students, too.

“Oh, Mr. Trump, you great businessman,” said, uh, Svetlana, the 22-year-old (KGB) guide as she curled up to him, “you so smart and handsome. You should be president. You make world better. NATO is taking your money as Americans. Not good for you…”

The idiot has been banging that same anti-NATO drum ever since. Alliances are a TWO-WAY relationship. It is obviously necessary for us also to remember now that NATO soldiers DIED alongside our U.S. soldiers in Iraq and in Afghanistan, but Trump, being clueless and even contemptuous of such personal sacrifice, has no idea nor honestly even really cares.

Indeed, that slug could not even be bothered, we also remember, in 2018 when President, to visit on our behalf as our chief-of-state the Aisne-Marne American military cemetery, about 50 miles from Paris, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I (1917-1918). Why? Because it was (yes, seriously) “raining.” Far worse, he called our dead soldiers resting there forever “suckers” and “losers.”

Democratic President Joe Biden for re-election, yes.

Or, second in the Republican Party currently, Nikki Haley, yes.

#NeverTrump

All that matters to one Donald J. Trump, at this point, is staying out of prison for various criminal activities (including trying to negate a U.S. election result and remain president after he had been defeated at the polls in November 2020) and trying to avoid paying out hundreds of millions of dollars in civil penalties for his liabilities due to engaging in (thus far) massive business fraud (proven in court) and defamation of a sexual assault victim (proven in court). He will blather and promise ANYTHING – even to America’s adversaries – if he thinks such may help him somehow possibly do so. His only hope in that regard, really, is somehow winning election again – even at dire cost to America and to our friends abroad.

He is all about himself and has always been all about himself. My fellow Americans, please don’t be gullible and stupid. He belongs in prison, utterly bankrupt, and not in the White House ever again.

  1. Please let it be known that it’s not just a small group of maghat cultists who cheer the Teflon don 2.0.
A sizeable bunch of Rep(ugnant) members of Congress are also merrily cheering him on.

And if this criminal gets re-elected it’s not just America that will suffer.

    1. There have always been those people. Naturally, he has lots of enablers. In many ways, that is what is so dangerous about him – it is not just him. He has his “SA” around him, and in some posts in government.

In the end, it is up to the voters. What sort of country do they want? If they don’t want what he is pushing – for instance, the overturning of Roe – they had better vote in November against him and all who support him.
