There seems to be a large misconception out there – mostly stirred up for self-serving reasons by the beaten incumbent – that the 2020 U.S. presidential election was somehow very close.
In fact, it was not.
Joe Biden received 7 million votes more than that incumbent. In comparison, Barack Obama received just under 10 million more votes than John McCain in Obama’s landslide 2008 victory. Aside from that Obama win, no other election since 1984 has seen such a large margin between the main candidates as Biden’s 2020 win.
There is no reasonable doubt whatsoever that U.S. voters want Joe Biden to become president, and from today he shall be for four years – a process that has happened every fourth year since one George Washington received just under 44,000 votes (so small was the electorate then) in 1789.🇺🇸
Have a good day, wherever you are in the world. 🙂
P.S. The mug slogan comes from the 1999-2006 U.S. television program The West Wing. If you want to know how the presidency actually works, it is an excellent dramatization. “Bartlet For America” was the campaign slogan of the program’s fictional “President Bartlet.”
