“Today is your birthday”

“I never forgot you telling me this…”

“Today is your birthday. Actually, it was February 29… and that was you. Of course you were born on a leap year. You couldn’t have had just an ordinary day every year like the rest of us.”

“You thought I wrote ‘my way’ and I told you I couldn’t write what you did – heavy police/crime novels.๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ Whenever I re-read what you’ve left behind in those great books, your storytelling deftness and command of the written word often leaves me awestruck.๐Ÿ˜ณ I always hope I do even half as well… even if rather more ‘my wayโ€™…”๐Ÿ˜•

“I managed to fit that fiction/fact line of yours, voiced by a fictionalized you, into a 2015 book which you never saw…”

“…but at least thankfully youโ€™d seen the two previous books, and you didn’t mind I had fictionalized you. You come to mind a lot when I write. I would probably not be doing it if it were not for you.”๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ“š

โ€œBack to it shortly. Ok, friends, so what are we going to do today?”:

“I’ll have some fun for a while. Hmm, maybe ‘Robert’ and ‘Constantia’ will try to have a chat?”

“‘Ok, friends, so what are we going to do today?’ Asking that ‘question’ of my characters at the start of a writing day? I’ve stolen that from you too.”๐Ÿ™‚
