Arrived In America

Hello from upstate New York! We’ve made it! Fortunately, it was one of the least “exciting” transatlantic airplane journeys I can recall.

First, Heathrow was fine:

Then the British Airways flight to Newark, New Jersey was also uneventful. Not even a moment of turbulence. Even the economy class “World Traveller” dinner was good.

Newark Airport, though, had the longest non-US citizen immigration line I’d ever seen there. It took our British friends an hour and a half to clear passport control.

After they’d finally gotten through, I joked with our girlfriend: “President Trump, beloved as he is by all Americans, is tryin’ to keep foreigners like you distasteful types out.”😂

Finally reaching the Catskills after a night with my dad In Pennsylvania, we found the house was in better shape than we’d expected after a tough winter. Other than us having to replace the car battery – which basically died from non-use – all was pretty well. The England and the USA flags went up outside.😊

And I had to share a mountain fashion selfie to Instagram, too.😉

[Arrival required a selfie. Not bad for some jet lag. August 26, 2018.]

We are planning on going into Manhattan tomorrow. I may not be posting much on here in the next two weeks. Please stop by my Instagram, where I’ll have plenty of short “Insta-posts” and pictures of our USA visit.

Have a good day, wherever you are. 🙂
