British and European schools are starting their summer holidays this week or next. Most American schools finished several weeks ago, to resume in late August or in early September. So with (northern hemisphere) summertime now fully upon us, are you looking for backyard, poolside, or beach reading?

Well, of course I have, uh, suggestions…

If you desire to get far away from our present day for a while, how about dropping into a late-1700s historical adventure romance epic?:

As you may know, I hope they’ll be another one similar to it out next year. I can’t yet promise it for summertime 2019. However, I’m giving it my best, uh, musket shot.

Or if a modern (mid-late 1990s set) travel and friendships – and occasionally lots more – series is more your taste?:

That series is of course also on the Kindle; and it is on other e-book platforms as well.

Yes, yes, I know that this post is unabashedly self-promoting. To borrow some phraseology from 220 years ago, “I hope you shan’t hold it against me.” After all, this is my blog and that writing, and sharing it, is the prime reason why I’m here.

And if Amazon can bury us all in Prime Day emails and ads…

…as they are doing currently, I think I’m allowed this one little post.

And I do this sort of thing so rarely.

Have a good reading and writing day, wherever you are in the world. πŸ™‚
