La Clusaz, French Alps

If you have seen Instagram, we have been in the Alps since Saturday…

We are about an hour and a half from Geneva Airport:

And we are in a chalet/hotel in the French town of La Clusaz:

This is our third time here, so we know the owner fairly well now. We love his place.

It is a very โ€œFrenchโ€ town. Unlike a lot of other French ski resorts, there are very few foreigners here, which is kinda nice. Itโ€™s a very โ€œfamilyโ€ place too โ€“ lots of couples with young children. And there’s food of course. And dessert:

Lunch dessert: Crepe with Chantilly cream.๐Ÿ˜ . We also raised a glass to my late novelist uncle, who died in 2015 and would have been 77 today. We had a laugh afterwards: the server was the sort of woman he *really* liked. I could easily imagine the him of many years ago, sitting at that table with us today, trying to chat her up in his horrific French and upon discovering she spoke English, asking her: "Tell me, did your boyfriend buy you that lovely necklace?"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ” . #travel #writers #novelists #LaClusaz #France #lunch #dessert #mountains #food #crepe #fattuesday #chantillycream #family #memories #restaurant #humor #tourism #vacances #holiday #holidayfun #photo #photographylife #Alps #Alpes #hautesavoie

And the views: a camera just doesnโ€™t do them justice.

I definitely haven’t forgotten. In spare time, I have been finishing off Conventions. And yes, I’ve also been working on – brace yourself – a beard:

We are back to London tomorrow. Have a good weekend, wherever you are in the world. ๐Ÿ™‚
