Given it was about Raymond Chandler’s The Big Sleep novel, Humphrey Bogart also had to have a mention in the previous post. In case you don’t know, I’m a huge Bogart fan. Writing fiction also allows one to slip in gems like this:

The scene referred to is an early one that includes Madeleine LeBeau, who plays “Yvonne.” Born in 1923, Wikipedia says she is the 1942 blockbuster film’s last surviving credited cast member.

Now, the point: “Okay, so why do the French seem to dislike Americans so much?” As for “Isabelle’s” answer to that seemingly perpetual question? It was indeed the best explanation I’d ever heard….
What? My pulling out that Passports excerpt and cutting it there? I’m “evil,” I know. But “cliffhangers” are fun! 😉
